The band apparently came together in 1967, featuring the talents of keyboardist Tommy Didly, former The Telstars bassist Terry Gorka, drummer Bill Manning, and lead guitarist Billy Windsor. Two years later they were apparently back in the Washington, D.C. area, releasing what may have been a vanity project on the small Arlington, Virginia-based Georgetowne label (the address on the album is within walking distance of my office). Singer, guitarist, organist, arranger, producer, Al Kooper was an essential figure of the rock scene between 1965 and 1970. He formed the Blues Project in 1965 and Blood, Sweat and Tears in 1968. As an organist, he played on Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde On Blonde, helping to create a sound which was influential on groups like The Band or Procol Harum.
Kooper was also an active session man playing with Tom Rush, Jim and Jean, Jimi Hendrix, the Paupers and Moby Grape. He was also one of the first musicians to record a session of rock jams with the commercially successful Super Session with Mike Bloomfield and Steve Stills in 1968. Although this was common with jazz or blues, the 'jam' album hadn't yet set root in the rock genre. This was followed in 1969 by The Live Adventures with Bloomfield, John Kahn, Skip Prokop, Carlos Santana and Elvin Bishop. In 1972 he formed his own label, Sounds Of The South, and produced the first three Lynyrd Skynyrd albums, one of the best Southern rock acts. He also produced several other rock and soul groups.
Between 1968 and 1978, Al Kooper recorded several solo albums which are mainly pop oriented, generally weak and beyond the scope of this book. After a long legal procedure with Columbia, he came back in 1995 with a new album which failed to chart

На днях попались мне в магазине вот такие два диска, которыми и спешу с вами поделиться.
Кто-то из музыкальных обозревателей сказал: "к сожалению (а может и к счастью), концертные записи Дженис Джоплин ничем не отличаются от студийных". Эти два диска - концертны записи, однако, информации по ним мне не удалось найти. Качество записей, я бы сказал, отменное, концертное настроение - на пятёрку с плюсом. Здесь можно услышать гаражно-блюзовые джемы ("Women Is Losers" - вокал Дженис Джоплин, "Turtle Blues", "Ball & Chain"); яркую психоделию, напоминающую, к примеру, Strawberry Alarm Clock ("Light Is Faster Than Sound"); а так же, с позволения сказать, душевно-грустные песни ("All Is Loneliness"); ну и, конечно же, известную всем "Let The Good Times Roll".
К сожалению, не имею оборудования, чтобы отсканировать буклет, но рипом делюсь с удовольствием:
