Исключительный случай заставил меня прервать вынужденное молчание!!! Однако придется все же быть кратким.. ибо время дорого, в прямом смысле..в денежном эквиваленте.Как видите на лицо тихая истерика с моей стороны, поэтому постараюсь ограничиться голыми фактами.Зашел на ютуб. Увидел. Охуел. Посмотрел. Достал из кэша. Конвертнул в мп3. Залил.
Ниже вы можете видеть треклист третьего альбома Патрика т.е. "The Hero I Might Have Been". валидность треклиста подтверждается сайтом rateyourmusic и поэтому тут я спокоен. Но в деле со вторым альбомом, а именно "Electric Plough" я вынужден положиться на компетентность юзера выложившего на ютуб все это счастье (кстати земной поклон тебе JAWA444). По его словам выходит что второй и третий альбомы практически идентичны, и отличаются только тем что "Electric Plough" на один трек больше "..Hero.." и тем что изменены очередность и названия некоторых треков. Рядом с первым я хотел дать треклист "Electric Plough" в нужной очередности но передумал - ни к чему лишняя путаница. В архиве песни расположены по образцу "..Hero.." а трек из "E.P." добавлен в виде бонуса в конце списка.

Patrick Campbell-Lyons - Me And My Friend (1973)

Альбом "Me And My Friend" принято считать первой сольной работой Кэмпбелла хоть это и не совсем верно, так как его сольная карьера по сути началась ещё с Локал Анаестетик. Однако собственно имя его впервые появляется на обложке этого альбома,впрочем лейбл Нирваны как видите так же присутствует.

Если сравнивать этот альбом с Саймоном например, то ничего общего между ними вы не найдете. На самом деле это уже совсем не псих-поп и не прото-прог, а что-то такое джазово-авнгардистское. Кстати вторая половина альбома практически полностью дублирует"Songs Of Love And Praise", и вполне ощутим переход от новых композиций к старым и в плане саунда и в плане аранжировок, всё таки Songs Of Love And Praise более походит на раннюю "класическую" Нирвану, нежели "Me And My Friend".

Сложно писать что-то новое к каждому альбому Нирваны потому что дать какой-то негативный отзыв я не в состоянии, а писать о том насколько мне близко всё то что делал и делает Кэмпбелл уже и нет смысла, ибо это очевидно :). Просто слушайте музыку. А если не понравится....ну что же на вкус и цвет, всегда можно просто удалить альбом с компьютера.

Данный релиз является переизданием 2007 года.

Nirvana(uk) - Forever Changing: An Introduction To Nirvana (2003)

В порядке борьбы с жидомасонами, снобами и прочими нехорошими подонками, укрывающими искусство от широких народных масс в своих затхлых вражьих закромах, выкладываю эту замечательную компиляцию. Чем же, вы спросите, компиляция сия замечательна? Отвечу: тем что компиляция сия содержит песни группы Nirvana. Вобщем-то никаких раритетов просто официальная компиляшка. Песни на мой вкус подобраны отличные. Впрочем я не могу быть объективным по причине крайней степени уберфанства. Но если вы ранее не слышали Nirvana, то знакомство с творчеством этого коллектива смело можно начинать с этой пластинки, уверяю вас вы не разочаруетесь. Матёрым же любителям группы срочно качать для коллекции.:)

Nirvana(uk) - Songs Of Love And Praise (1972)

Совершенно уже сольная работа Кэмпбелла под именем нирваны. Первое мое негативное впечатление сменилось довольно лояльным отношением к альбому. Ничего впечатляющего но и сказать что полное г*но тоже не скажешь. Вполне себе такой альбом:  ровный,не хитовый, более близок к изначальной концепции группы нежели предыдущий. Второй трек вполне мог бы войти в первые две пластинки, а вообще отдельные треки в плане саунда создают впечатление хоуммейд записи. Альбом открывает альтернативная прифанкованная версия Rainbow Chaser которая в сравнении с оригинальной версией звучит, чего уж там, довольно пошло, а вот альтернативная версия пентикост хотел мне понравилась.

Сборник раритетов, всякой всячины неизданной и в основной своей массе плохо отремастированной. Очень интересно я вам скажу. Кроме того несколько треков с неким подобием исторической справки о состоянии коллектива в определённый отрезок времени, говоря проще: то ли патрик то ли алекс рассказывают под музыку чего у них там происходило интересного.

Nirvana(uk) - Orange and Blue (1996)

Ни на одном блоге не мог найти, и таки откопал в суслике.Единственный номерной альбом, по крайней мере пока что, записанный Nirvana после воссоединения,  ибо все прочие являлись компиляциями и скорее проектами Кэмпебела, иногда при участии Спиропулоса.

Очень хороший альбом, совершенно объективно, никакого уберфанства. Электро-психо-поп. Всё таже меланхоличная красивая музыка но уже с более жёстким электронным звучанием. Опять повторюсь что напоминает сольные работы Леннона, не столько по звуку и гармониям (хотя сходство несомненно есть, особенно в записи вокала) сколько по общему настроению. При прослушивании Lithium американской нирваны на ум приходят последние работы Moby, с What are we Gonna do Now ассоциируется альбом Hotel того же Moby.

"Orange and blue" is a collection of tracks recorded by Nirvana in their early, Island Label days, but not released at that time. The reason many of the tracks failed to gain inclusion on the band's "Simon Simopath" or "All of us" albums is that the record company rejected them as being too deviant from the band's recognised style. In 1996, principal band members Alex Spyropoulos and Patrick Campbell-Lyons got together to revive the songs. Some of the tracks appear to be in their original demo form, while others such as the opening title track (with its drug related theme) have been substantially reworked for this album. Thus, while this might technically be deemed a compilation album, it contains new material.

Most of the songs here have a much more upbeat orientation, leading the record company to suggest to the band that they "Leave this to Spooky Tooth and stick to your chamber music". Tracks such as "Stone in the water" recall the psychedelic roots of the band, while others like "As long as I can see you" and "Lost in space" have clear BEATLES influences. The latter, which includes the phasing which made the band famous on "Rainbow chaser", tells a bizarre tale of an astronaut stranded in space for 10 years with a cactus, a female ant, and a spider. The advice from mission control is "Don't forget to feed the spider". Great stuff!

"Busy man" was the first song the duo ever wrote together, presumably after listening to a KINKS album! "What are we gonna do now", which is presented here in demo form although it has the quality of a completed song, is a fine soft ballad with sensitive echoed vocals. The final track, "Our love is the sea", is another touching soft ballad. It was originally intended for Francoise Hardy to record (she had covered "Tiny goddess"), but unfortunately the song never reached her; her loss.

There is the occasional turkey, the worst of which is "Do you dream". Even Campbell- Lyons, whose cod cockney accent adorns the song, declines to comment on it in the sleeve notes! "My little red book" is little better, the poor recording deeming it pretty much unlistenable.

Also included is a cover of Seattle grunge band Nirvana's "Lithium" recorded just after the death of Kurt Cobain. The recording of this track appears to have been part of the settlement between the bands over the use of the name. It is certainly worth hearing as this Nirvana manage to stamp their identity on the song, removing any hints of grunge in the process, while creating something substantially different to their usual soft melodic pop.

In all, a thoroughly enjoyable album which captures the true character of the band far better than their early albums. If only Island records had displayed more faith in them, and allowed them to cover a more diverse range of songs, the history of the band might have been so different.

Nirvana(uk) - Chemistry (1999)

Очень долго искал я этот бокс-сет и как это обычно бывает нашёл там куда частенько заглядываю да и то уже после того как обнаружил ссылку на альтернативную в плане битрейта версию...
Адская компиляция на трёх CD, выпущенная английской компанией Demon Records на лэйбле Edsel, первый из которых состоит из оркестрованных песен.Антология содержит и неизданные вещи, и кое-что из современного материала ну и конечно проверенные временем хиты.
Лично моё уберфанское мнение - отличная компиляция, отличный звук, всё просто отлично!

Второй диск бокссета объективно не так хорош как первый, в основном песни акустические, меньше психоделических студийных наворотов и оркестровок.Звук погрязнее что-ли, песни меланхоличные. Тем не менее фанатам качать обязательно. It's not to late совсем по-ленноновски звучит, проняло...

Третий заключительный диск анталогии. Всякое разное...Фанк и диско и ещё много чего. Очень интересно - лично я для себя открыл новые интересные грани творчества группы. В качестве изюминки кавер на песню Lithium американской Nirvana, записанный в знак примирения с оной. Кто не знает конфликт произошёл на почве авторских прав на название, что, впрочем, очевидно. Песня записана в стиле минималистичного диско - лично мне понравилась.
Звук в целом очень интересный, чуть ли не гаражный однако при этом очень много электроники.

Nirvana(uk) - All of Us (1968) Remastered

В феврале 1968 группа записала для фильма The Touchables песню All Of Us, которая стала заглавной композицией нового альбома. В него вошла и композиция с нового сингла Rainbow Chaser, где мастерски использовался эффект фазирования, а также трэк со следующей сорокапятки, Girl In The Park.

Выход альбома состоялся, когда фильм уже шел в кинотеатрах. На обложку было решено поставить весьма смелую фотографию - кадр из немецкого пропагандистского фильма гитлеровской эпохи, запечатлевший процессию исторических военачальников, шествующую по усыпанной трупами дороге. Однако музыка была отнюдь не столь мрачной, напротив, она стала более утонченной и изысканной: Алекс и Патрик уже распустили первоначальный состав группы, и музыку теперь исполняли сессионные профессионалы.

Nirvana's second album was dainty period British pop-psychedelia, falling on the lightest shade of that category that could be imagined. For some adventurous pop fans, few higher recommendations could be concocted. For most 1960s collectors, though, it's fair to say that it's too precious and insubstantial to qualify as a major work. Their most well-known song, "Rainbow Chaser," leads off, with its prominent phasing effects; "Tiny Goddess," one of their best ballads, comes next. The rest of the album doesn't measure up to those two tracks, with pretty but not compelling melodies (sometimes reminiscent of, but not in the same class as, Paul McCartney) and orchestration that, like the songs themselves, seem to tiptoe for fear of being too forceful. The overall result is too saccharine, and occasionally even childish. The 2003 Universal/Island CD adds historical liner notes and four non-LP bonus tracks from 1968-1969 singles. Unfortunately, none of these additions are exciting. The three B-sides ("Flashbulb," "Darling Darlane," and "C Side of Ocho Rios"), like all of their B-sides except "I Believe in Magic," sound like throwaways, though "C Side of Ocho Rios" is a nice easy listening jazzy instrumental with choke organ. The other bonus track, "Oh! What a Performance," was actually the A-side of their final Island single in 1969, and is an uncharacteristically straight-ahead keyboard-based rocker, though nothing worth raving about.

Аранжированные Сидом Дейлом короткие музыкальные зарисовки стали культовыми для многих и многих фанатов группы и не только для них. The Story of Simon Simopath считается классикой психоделического и барокко попа. В 1999 году он был ремастирован и переиздан с моно- и стерео- версиями треков и несколькими бонус треками.

The Story Of Simon Simopath is Nirvana's debut album released by Island Records in 1967. It traces the story from life to death of the titular hero via a series of short songs which are similar in tone and innocence to the work of Mark Wirtz.
The certain level of 'obscurity' that the album has, makes it a classic for most fans. It was very highly acclaimed by critics making it one of the most important albums released in the psychedelic genre of the UK. Some people compare some of the arrangements to those in "Sgt. Pepper's", while others simply put it in a category all by itself because of the complex orchestrations.[weasel words]
The story deals with a boy named Simon Simopath who dreams of having wings. He is unpopular at school, and after reaching adulthood (in 1999) goes to work in an office in front of a computer. He suffers a nervous breakdown and is unable to find help in a mental institution, but gets aboard a rocket and meets a centaur who will be his friend and a tiny goddess named Magdalena, who works at Pentecost Hotel. Simon and Magdalena fall in love and get married, followed by a jazzy party.
"Pentecost Hotel" was released as a single with the non-album B-side, "Feelin' Shattered'." "Wings of Love" was the next single, also with a non-album B-side, "Requiem to John Coltrane." "Girl in the Park," from the second album All of Us featured the B-side, "C Side In Ocho Rios," which is an instrumental version of "In the Courtyard of the Stars."

The 2003 Universal Island Remasters collection includes both stereo and mono versions of the album on one disc. This release contains several bonus tracks.

Третий альбом группы был началом конца. Отслушав материал альбома Блэкуэлл отказался издавать его и Алекс с Патриком заключили договор с американской компанией Metromedia на выпуск этого издания под названием To Marcus III. Metromedia продали лицензию на релиз "Маркуса" английскому лейблу Pye и в 1970 году альбом увидел свет и с треском провалился.

Но тем не менее хорош.

Nirvana's third and final album for Island (sometimes titled Dedicated to Markos III in discographies) was extremely rare in its first 1969 LP issue, the U.K. release limited to a few hundred promo copies. The group's cutesiness was toned down considerably for this LP, though they were still offering the kind of light orchestrated pop-rock that they had on their previous Island records, with some jazz and classical influences. It's a more mature product than their first two albums, but a little tired-sounding, and lacking in the more psychedelic ambition that produced some of their best songs, like "Rainbow Chaser" and "I Believe in Magic." In fact they sometimes sound rather like film composers or pop-jazz-vocals singer/songwriters caught in a different era, what with the rather grandiose (and certainly grandiosely arranged) Euro-romantic sweep of most of their songs. Although the orchestration, often combining strings with harpsichord, is often sumptuous (if just short of cloying) and the melodies pleasant, not much of this sticks to the bones. The somewhat more soulful, straightforward rock of "Christopher Lucifer" and "It Happened Two Sundays Ago" provides some nice relief, if only because it's different from the wistful fantasy aura that predominated in Nirvana's world. This rarity gained easy availability with its 2003 CD release on Universal/Island, which despite remastering still has some noises that sound suspiciously like tiny vinyl bumps at the beginning of "Black Flower," one of the more dramatic and better numbers. Also in the package are extensive liner notes, though these (like those on all the 2003 Universal/Island reissues of Nirvana's first three LPs) contain annoying undue repetition of the text that appears on the liners to the other Universal/Island Nirvana re-releases.

Nirvana(uk) - Local Anaesthetic (1971)

Первая причина, и соответственно самая весомая, по которой я рекомендую этот альбом это то что он содержит всего два трека, а это очень облегчает процесс переведения музыки из аудио формата в мп3 ибо нет хуже мороки для лентяя нежели переписывание названий всех композиций альбома с обложки ЦД в соответствующую графу "грабера". Но это лирика...
Вторая причина такова что Nirvana моя наилюбимейшая команда..но это тоже лирика...
И только третья причина вполне практического свойства: этот альбом единственный из пяти номерных альбомов, изданных до развала группы, который есть у меня на CD.

Собственно о содержании: психоделия.

Reissued 1971 album. 'Local Anaesthetic' was first issued on Vertigo's 'swirl' imprint and contained two lengthy heavily orchestrated tracks that further enhance the bands reputation for producing striking and innovative work.
