Partridge Family - A Partridge Family Christmas Card (1971)

В 70-е на американском телевидении шел ситком под названием Partridge Family о музыкальной семье. Семья состояла из мамы и пяти детей. Параллельно со съемками сериала записывались и продавались альбомы. Голосов реальных актеров на пластинках практически не было, так что это информация о сериале дана просто в качестве справки. Реально в записи участвовала группа сессионных музыкантов, известных под названием The Wrecking Crew. Товарищи эти много дел понаделали и даже попали в Зал Славы Музыкантов, неизвестно правда в какой, надо думать все-таки американский. Но даже и это не важно. Как ясно из названия пластинки - это рождественский альбом. Т.е. ничего иного вы и не получите. Песни, ставшие уже классичкскими вы думаю уже не раз слышали в исполнении Синатры, Бинга Кросби, Джули Лондон и еще бог весть кого. Ну так вот теперь послушаете в исполнении Partridge Family и The Wrecking Crew. D 1971 году альбом был на первом месте в специальном чарте рождественских альбомов Биллборда.

A Partridge Family Christmas Card was originally released as a vinyl album of Christmas music released in 1971. The case of the album contains a reproduction of a Christmas card that was signed by the whole Partridge Family, the stars of a 1970s sitcom. The song "My Christmas Card to You" was original, but the remainder of the tracks were standards. Like most of the Partridge Family songs, the lead vocals are sung by David Cassidy, who played Keith Partridge in the show. The album also features one of the few Partridge Family recordings featuring Shirley Jones as the lead singer ("The Christmas Song").
A Partridge Family Christmas Card was the best-selling Christmas/holiday album in the United States during the Christmas season of 1971. It was the number 1 album on Billboard magazine's special Christmas Albums sales chart for all four weeks that the magazine published the chart that year.
